Be sure to stop by and check out the other awesome Shelf Candy fellow book bloggers are writing about!
Now, onto the show!
My Shelf Candy for this week is another one inspired by Valentine's Day:
Even if you're not a "fairy person", most cannot deny the beauty of these covers.
The overall tones of cool blues and greens help the covers seem mysterious and dark. Then BAM! a deep tragic purple hue followed by sad pinks and melancholy yellows set this art apart. I love the bracketing of the title at the bottom, each design unique to its book.
The frosted flowers in book one and the delicate deep purple feathers in book two.
An unfolding and metamorphisis in book three, blue and gold wings compared to the dark overshadowed eyes of the model in book four. Only a hint about the book- the tattoos on her arm.
And finally book five, the explosion of dark purple and yellow flower, opening and held in front of a white luminous background.
What is not to love?
I think the covers are even prettier in person.
And in case you didn't know, the story does center around love. Forbidden love, cruel love, love with no boundaries and selfless love.
What do you think?
I adore these covers. I love that the focus is on a beautiful and interesting object with the character in the foreground. The colors are nicely done and there is a sense of boldness. The graphics/text is nicely done as well. Thank you for sharing your post.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful covers! Certain parts of them almost seem 3D to me, they pop out so much. The colors are lovely as well, muted in the right places to make other places stand out. Excellent choice!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I absolutely love the layout/design for your blog, beautiful!
