Happy New Year! That is my bunny Annabel Lee, who says Happy New Year to you!
I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to stop by my blog and participate in the Five Days of Christmas giveaways.
2013 has started and I'm hoping this year will be a wonderful year for all of us.
Here are a few of my New Years Resolutions:
Read the TBR pile!
I'm super excited about this. Usually, I'm focused on the next new book, what everyone is talking about, the beginning of a new series, etc. It's easy to get wrapped up in the excitement! But what about all those amazing books on my TBR list that are being ignored? What about all those books I keep saying "I'll get around to this...someday" and someday doesn't come? Well someday is here! This year I will mostly be reading from my TBR pile, and keeping a happy husband by getting some of these mounds of books out of the house.
Included are some of these:
Say goodbye to NetGalley guilt!
That's right. If you're a blogger you know NetGalley. NetGalley is a wonderful website where you can be approved to write reviews on books before they are published. I have a few, ok a lot, of books I need to catch up on. I do have every intention of reading them and I think this is the year to make a huge dent, catching up on older titles and keeping up to date with current releases.
More Giveaways!
Did I mention I will be reading more physical books this year? Well, I can't keep all of them! So be on the lookout for more giveaways this year than ever before!
Book Diet!
I say this every year, but it really is my biggest problem. I love buying books. I love hardcover first editions. I love the feel of hardcover, when you open the book for the very first time. I love getting books signed. But this year I'm really going to cut back. Now that I'm telling all of you that, I have to be serious!
I have some rules in place. I know it will be hard, but I'm very determined to read through my TBR pile and not add, too much, to it! I mean, a little bit won't hurt... :)
Knit more!
I'm a knitter but I've fallen behind! You may see a post or two this year about my knitting and trying to keep me on track. I have a lot of yarn and a lot of projects to complete so I will be focusing on that this year too.
And who knows, maybe they'll be a hand knit item with a book giveaway! Just saying.
Visit blogs more often!
This is a big one for me. Sometimes things get crazy and I forget to visit my favorite blogs and leave comments. I'd really like to keep up with more blogs this year. I enjoy blogging and like to meet other bloggers so this will be a fun, social resolution to complete
Anywhoo, that is it for me!
Thanks for taking the time to read and tell me, what are your New Years Resolutions?
I'll be watching! Mostly because I suck at keeping my own resolutions, hahah :)
ReplyDeleteLOL I need you to root me on! :)
Deletei think i will read the fault in our stars this year, too. and omg - 2666. i bought that with you! the friend i gave a copy to finished it years ago. every time i see her she asks if i read it. i got it on kindle now so maybe i'll take a crack at it again.
ReplyDeleteand knitting! yes, i think that is a good goal. i am going to try to knit for a few minutes a day at least.
good luck with your goals. i think they are totally achievable. give annabelle and carter treats for me!
So much reading and knitting to do. I feel pretty confident though. I mean, it's a whole year. I can do a lot of damage in a year :)
DeleteWell, you know that I really love "The Fault In Our Stars." I hope that you do read it soon! I think that you have excellent goals for the new year. I still need to come up with a list of my own goals. There are some things brewing in my mind but putting those thoughts/wishes down on paper solidifies my determination. Hooray for more reading & knitting! Onward!
ReplyDeleteOnward! :)
DeleteThanks for reading Laura!
Thanks Nicole! Hope you had a wonderful holiday!

Awwwww bunny! Those are some great goals and how did I not know you were a knitter too? It's so easy to get focused on books or knitting and then miss out on the other.
