Happy Tuesday!
Welcome to another post for Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This week-
Top Ten Most Intimidating Books
Collage time!
Some are because of size, some are content. Some are subject matter (I know I'm going to be scared during The Shining). Some are because I've been looking forward to reading it for so long, I hope it lives up my expectations! (Jane Eyre) And one is because I've been told I should read it, even though I don't think I'll like it (I am not a Hemmingway fan.)
Here they are, in no particular order.
What is your TTT?
Um, yes to all of these. I haven't read any of them and there are reasons for that. Great list!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
I read 1Q84 last year and hated it! It's long and winding. I wouldn't recommend it. Then again, I do poorly with Japanese lit for some reason, so you might still enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteOoh, good to know. Yeah, I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to that one! :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by my TTT! I read The Shining and absolutely LOVED it. It's creepy for sure (in fact, I think the only book I've ever read that actually made me turn all the lights on), but it was a page-turner for sure. I'm the one to hide my eyes under a blanket during a scary movie (hubby always has to tell me when it's safe to look again), but I found The Shining to be the good kind of scary -- I was sad when the book was over.
ReplyDeleteGood to know! I may read it this year then! :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by Melissa!
1Q84 didn't make my list, but I am super intimidated by it! I'm afraid I just won't "get it"!
ReplyDeleteI have that same concern!! :)
DeleteUgh, Anna Karenina... Man, I did not love that book! And it still intimidates me, even after reading it...
ReplyDeleteThe Count of Monte Cristo is AMAZING though! As is Jane Eyre, so much love for that book!!
I'm scared of reading Outlander as well :)
I am currently reading Jane Eyre, as an audiobook! I love it so far. I'm surprised by how much!
DeleteThanks for commenting!
I'm definitely intimidated by 1Q84 for sure. The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorites, but I want to re-read and I'm intimidated by THAT. It's quite a long book.
ReplyDeleteOoh, would like to read it eventually!
DeleteThanks for commenting!
The Sun Also Rises and The Shining are both great. I recommend that you read them! Anna Karenina made my list too...don't know if I'll ever make it through that book!
ReplyDeleteThe size alone is intimidating!! :) Thanks for stopping by
Deletepeggy still makes fun of me because i never finished the count of monte cristo. and you and i can join the hemingway un-fan club. i also may never finish 2666. seriously i only got like halfway through book 1. ughhhh.
ReplyDeletei would also add to the list the game of thrones (any of them) and war and peace (go, al).
i love jane eyre though and hope you get to it at some point. wanna read "it" together? hahaha.
I'm listening to it on audiobook right now! and I am surprised by how much I love it!
DeleteThe only one I've read is Jane Eyre. I've been avoiding several of the others, too. I don't do horror, so that eliminates Stephen King. *shudders*
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog earlier today!
Thanks for swinging by mine, Lark!
DeleteHappy Reading!
I have Jane Eyre and Anna Karenina on my TBR list! I really enjoyed The Count of Monte Cristo though...
ReplyDeleteOh, good to know. I do eventually want to read it. Some day...
DeleteYes, Yes and Yes. Pretty much intimidated by all of these. Great list!
