Try Me Out! Weight Watchers One Pot (2)
Here's another one from this One Pot cookbook. I like the idea of one pot cookbooks, usually because the recipes are easy, fast and I don't have too many dishes left over. I have an older kitchen with very little counterspace and no dishwasher so I enjoy the minimum cleaning that usually goes along with a one pot recipe.
But this time was different.
It's a big book, so I don't expect to like every recipe in it. I was a bit sad though because this took me a bit of time and then to not like it...

Try Me Out! Nigella Express by Nigella Lawson (1)
Oh Nigella. You are one of my favorite chefs. The book "How To Be A Domestic Goddess" is one of my favorite baking books ever. I have made many recipes from that book, and if you know me, that is quite a feat.
So this express cookbook caught my eye and I had to get it. It's beautiful, with lots of savory pictures of food and a good variety of different recipes.
I find her little notes along with each recipe charming.

Try Me Out! Weight Watchers One Pot (1)
I love Costco. It's a great guilty pleasure. Not only can I get a hotdog and soda for $1.50, which I occassionally do, I also get to browse a fun and vast array of books. It gives me the chance to look and buy some usually expensive books, like say cookbooks for instance, at a "well, might as well try it" rate.
My last Costco splurge was for this Weight Watchers One Pot Cookbook. Mostly because the photo on the cover is gorgeous. I even love the color of the Dutch Oven.

Try Me Out! Sunday Roasts by Betty Rosbottom (1)
Sunday Roasts.
In my family, Sundays did not include roasts. I come from an Italian family, and most Sundays we gathered around the table for a large plate of pasta, homemade meatballs and red wine.
However, I have found that my British hubby, every Sunday, yearns for a good ol' roast, like his mum makes.
Our friend T, knowing this tidbit, gave him this beautiful cookbook for his birthday this year.
I'm going to be honest: I don't like to cook. I've never had much luck with it, planning how everything is going to magically be ready all at the same time, unburned.
So it was with fingers crossed and a little extra gusto that I decided to make a Sunday Roast. I thought, hey, I've now hosted Thanksgiving a few times, and the house hasn't blown up. Go me. I could do a little roast right?
