Shelf Candy Saturday!!! (8)

Thanks to Five Alarm Book Reviews for hosting Shelf Candy every Saturday!
My Saturdays are a lot more fun because of it!

This week, my Shelf Candy is:

Synopsis can be found here.

I mean, COME. ON!

Gorgeously drawn cover, beautiful shadows and rich sepia tones. I love the details of each line, the uneven brick wall to their side.

A young boy, clenching his fists, ready to fight at least two men twice his size! And the girl behind him with the wooden panel... Friend or Foe?

I think I'll have to read it to find out!

The cover poses so many questions the reader will want answers for. And it doesn't hurt that it's by one of my favorite authors growing up- Avi.

This cover reminds me of classic graphic novel art. Beautiful and well done!

I saw this while I was in NYC over the weekend at The Strand. I snatched it up and went to pay for it asap. Could you blame me? I think not!

  1. True artistry. I love it. The drawing is so detailed that on a quick glance it looks like a photo. The girl in the foreground is especially well done. So, this is not only a beautiful package, but according to the description, it sounds like a fantastic read. I can't wait to hear what you think of it. Thank you for sharing it.
