Review:

Many years ago, Gordon and Glenna had a long and deep romance. When they broke up, Gordon left a part of his heart with Glenna. Now, decades later, he seeks her again. To remember what they had? To rekindle what they lost? Gordon doesn't know exactly, only that through his life, he always has felt he has left a part of himself with Glenna.

I didn't know what to expect from Comeback Love. Would it be heavy and sappy, sugary coated and too sweet? Would it be painful and sharp, watching this couple dissolve away onto to reconnect years later? What hurt and pain could they carry with them after all these years.

Luckily, Comeback Love is none of these things and all of them. It's the lovely romance and hard times of two young people falling in love and then breaking apart. It's the story of older, wiser versions of themselves reconnecting, and learning about each other again.

Golden transported me to a different time and made me really care about all of the characters. I loved switching between past and present day. When each time shift happened I was sad to leave the past Glenna and Gordon or the present Glenna and Gordon. Both timelines were equally fulfilling.

It's sweet. It's painful. It's heartbreaking and warming. Gordon and Glenna both make mistakes, push each other to their limits, seeing the others' boundaries but daring to shove harder. And that makes their romance even more sweet when they're tender and loving and supportive. They are beautifully flawed creatures.
