Shelf Candy! (15)

Thank you to Five Alarm Book Reviews for hosting Shelf Candy Saturday!

Saturdays are even more fun when I can look at book covers all morning!
And thank you to everyone who looks at and comments on my Shelf Candy! I love being a part of this Meme!

My Shelf Candy for this Saturday is in honor of Valentine's Day...

I know, I know. It's an older title.
But "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger is still one of my favorite romance stories of all time.
Synopsis can be found here.

The beauty on the outside is just as gorgeous as the story on the inside.
A young girl with her high white socks and Mary Janes, stand next to an empty pair of older man's shoes, a thermos and blanket ready, waiting in a field. I love the warmness of the cover, the deep brown shoes and the bright red blanket. The light greenish blue settling over the scene.

The cover tells the reader so much of the story, and yet nothing at all.

I come back to this cover specifically for Valentine's Day. It was one of the few books I could convince my hubby to read, as he reads mostly nonfiction books.
And he loved it.

If you haven't read this book, you're missing out.

  1. LOVE this book and love the cover. The original hardcover is hard to find and has artwork by the author, I believe--but this one I think suits the book much better than the painting of a ship.

  2. I love to see an older title featured once in awhile. As bloggers, I think we overlook them too often. This is a wonderful choice. There are those covers that speak clearly of the book without a need to go overboard, and this is one of those covers. It is also a great choice for Valentines. Thanks for sharing it.
