Review:

A wakes up every morning in a new body. A can access their memories. A can access their feelings. A can live their life, for one full day. And then move on.
But one day A meets someone that may be worth sticking around for.
How can A make love stay? How can A make himself stay?

Well done.
A is a sympathetic and warm character. Male or female, whichever body A inhabits, it doesn't matter. A is both male and female, bodies being only vessels, a tricky trap one must get around. Compassion and curiosity follow A from body to body. When A meets Rhiannon, and falls in love, A can't imagine life without her.

This book is well written, bittersweet and richly complicated. I loved the bodies A inhabited, the array of characters met along the way. I love the deeper meaningful questions Levithan posed, without beating them over our heads. How much does body matter? Can Rhiannon love A regardless of size, shape, gender, sex?

A loves the family, spouses, mates and friends of his bodies, and wonders what would it be like to wake up in the same body, every day. Every day know the same people, love the same thing, be the same person. While most people crave a new start, a new life, A has one every day and wishes for stability, real love and long term relationships.

I see A's compassion towards his bodies, towards their lives. I feel A's frustrations with his situation, the challenges A must face every day are not easy. If I was to see A, I would like to know if I would recognize him/her. The answers A searches for are not unlike our own. I hope he finds them. I hope there are more books.
The ending is killer. I saw it coming, knew it was coming, but it killed me anyway.

Rating 9 Awesome, like Cookies and Ice Cream

  1. This book sounds really good. Intriguing and unique. It seems like the plot is a little more mature than some other YA out there. I really am looking forward to reading Every Day.
