Review

Allison is tracking a very, very evil vampire, Sarren, who has captured her sire Kanin. She follows their trail to the most unlikely of places, back home to New Covington. Where a new string of virus has been unleashed and both vampires and human races may not survive.

Book Two in the Blood of Eden series, does not disappoint.
We leave off with Sarren having kidnapped Kanin. Allison goes on a mission to save her sire, which takes her on a long journey, making new and surprising allies and running into old enemies.

Kagawa keeps me on my toes. I like how I think I know what's going to happen and then I'm totally wrong. I like how Allison is growing into a more complex character, her thoughts, feelings and inner struggles are still there. Jackal may appear, and he may entice that inner demon/monster in her, but Allison is strong, her own person, and must overcome not just outside forces but herself.

Zeke becomes a little more interesting. I liked him in the first book just fine, especially what he stands for, which is what Allison wants most of all. Normalcy. But overall, Zeke can be a little cookie cutter bland to me, so I'm happy in this new book he's gotten in touch with his bad ass self!

Honestly though, I'm still more fascinated by Kanin, his past, his stories and his rescue. And I hope we learn even more about Kanin in the next book!

Overall, The Eternity Curse is a solid sequel that deepens the characters, heightens the danger and envelops me into the world a little bit more

Rating 8 Cookie Worthy
