Top Ten Tuesday! (19)

Hi Everyone!
Happy Tuesday!
Welcome to another post for Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week-
Top Ten Most Intimidating Books

Collage time!

Some are because of size, some are content. Some are subject matter (I know I'm going to be scared during The Shining). Some are because I've been looking forward to reading it for so long, I hope it lives up my expectations! (Jane Eyre) And one is because I've been told I should read it, even though I don't think I'll like it (I am not a Hemmingway fan.)

Here they are, in no particular order.

What is your TTT?

  1. Um, yes to all of these. I haven't read any of them and there are reasons for that. Great list!

  2. I read 1Q84 last year and hated it! It's long and winding. I wouldn't recommend it. Then again, I do poorly with Japanese lit for some reason, so you might still enjoy it.

    1. Ooh, good to know. Yeah, I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to that one! :)

  3. Thanks for stopping by my TTT! I read The Shining and absolutely LOVED it. It's creepy for sure (in fact, I think the only book I've ever read that actually made me turn all the lights on), but it was a page-turner for sure. I'm the one to hide my eyes under a blanket during a scary movie (hubby always has to tell me when it's safe to look again), but I found The Shining to be the good kind of scary -- I was sad when the book was over.

  5. Ugh, Anna Karenina... Man, I did not love that book! And it still intimidates me, even after reading it...
The Count of Monte Cristo is AMAZING though! As is Jane Eyre, so much love for that book!!
I'm scared of reading Outlander as well :)

  6. I'm definitely intimidated by 1Q84 for sure. The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorites, but I want to re-read and I'm intimidated by THAT. It's quite a long book.

  9. The only one I've read is Jane Eyre. I've been avoiding several of the others, too. I don't do horror, so that eliminates Stephen King. *shudders*

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier today!
