TGIF at GReads! (12)

Thanks to GReads! for hosting! And TGIF!

This week's question: Buy or Borrow: Where do your books that you read come from? The bookstore? The library? Do you prefer to own a book, or have it on loan?

I love buying books. I love the feel of them, owning them to read and re-read at my leisure. I love the look of them displayed in bookcases. I buy from booksellers online, from major retailers, from used bookstores, everywhere!

But I also love to use the library.

My local library is amazing. It has a wonderful selection. I can borrow, read and give back without the clutter or the cost! And best of all, if I really love the book, I'll buy it anyway!

And of course, I have to mention my fellow book buying/borrowing junkie A from RNSL. I borrow books from her all the time!

The below is a small sample I have borrowed from friends or the library, but loved them so much, I bought my own copy!

So really, I guess I'll buy and borrow books from just about anywhere and anyone.
What about you?

  1. I'm not very picky about where I get my books. But I do have to admit that I don't really utilize my library. That's definitely going to change this year!

  2. I like the idea of having a book friend to swap with. :)

  3. Oh, I much prefer to buy my books! I haven't been to a library in YEARS. Too frustrating!! Anyway, I have tons of books here in our apartment, so that means a HUGE TBR pile...

It's nice that you have a friend to swap books with! It's also great that you're able to control your book buying by going to the library. I just can't...

    Happy Friday!! : )
