Bloggiesta!

Thanks to There's A Book and It's All About Books for hosting! You can follow the link to sign up and read about the Bloggiesta!

Well friends, I have been playing around with the idea of participating in Bloggiesta all week, but finally decided to give in once I realized this weekend in Los Angeles is Carmegeddon 2. Yes, that's right. We call it Carmegeddon. If you're unfamiliar with it, it's when the 405 freeway is closed between the 101 and the 10.
If you haven't watched the Saturday Night Live skit, "The Californians", you should.
What this means is that there are only a couple ways for people in the San Fernando Valley to get over the hill to the west side. The beach side.
Carmegeddon 1 was done last year, same closure, and the roads were beautifully empty. Most people stayed home. I did too, and read a lot!

With that in mind, I hope to have some free time this weekend, staying away from the beach and the major highways and do some blog upkeep and some fun stuff with my readers!
So stop by and check out some fun stuff!

9/30
Update:
So it's Sunday night and I'll be honest, I'm pretty tired. I think I'll get some reading done before bed, but otherwise, I think my list of bloggiesta activities is done. For now!
That doesn't mean I won't be doing numbers 1 and 6 sometime this week, so look out for a super fun post.
And reviews are on their way!

So thanks for joining me during my first Bloggiesta!
Have a wonderful week!

Below is my list of mini challenges, but you can click here and find the full list!

Mini Challenges:

1. Step Out of Your Comfort Zone YA Romantics.
Excited to try to post something that is not usually on The Windy Pages. Stay tuned to find out what!

2. 20+ Dicussion Post Ideas For Your Blog GirlXOXO.

This is such a great idea. I can't wait to hear what everyone has to say. And, there might be a giveaway attached to this one. Just sayin.
9/29- DONE! Check it out here!

3. Tips on Setting Up Guidelines and Policies on the Blog Girl Who Reads

9/28- DONE! check out my new "About" page!

4. Write a Post About YOU (I mean ME!) Once Upon A Story
I think this will be fun. I try not to put too much about myself on the Internets but I'm curious about other bloggers and sometime wish I knew more about them! So maybe a little post into my life isn't so bad.

9/29- DONE! check it out here!

5. Bring the Hits: Building a Blog Audience Book Journey
I love comments and discussions. So this challenge will be a lot of fun for me. I haven't visited a lot of blog sites lately, mostly because I've been so busy, but I'm glad to have some down time this weekend and explore!
9/29- Done!

6. Review Catch Up WordLily
I'm sure I have reviews I'm supposed to finish out there.
I am going to try to "Can't Eat Just One" and do at least two of them this weekend. Lots of posts! Lots of work! Lots of reading!

Well that's it for me for now kids!
It's Friday and I have to head off to work soon. But I'm excited to start the day thinking about books and blogging about books and hopefully you'll come back and see how I'm doing!

Happy Reading!

  1. I am so thrilled you are doing Bloggiesta too! I have been looking for fellow LA Book Bloggers. Last Bloggiesta I was thinking (still thinking) about creating a LA Book Bloggers Group. I am going to try and stay away from the freeway too and get a few blogging things done. New Follower Alysia :)
